WASHINGTON, D.C.Three lottery tickets with a collective value of $2 million were sold or claimed in DC earlier this month: a $1 million D.C. Scratcher and two Lucky for Life winning tickets valued at $500,000 each. So far, there is still one Lucky for Life half-a-million-dollar prize unclaimed.

Lucky for Life

Phillip H. of D.C. claimed a $500,000 prize with Lucky for Life on Wednesday, August 14. Born in Jamaica, Phillip’s family relocated to the area when he was just five. While the top priority for his windfall is paying bills, Phillip sensibly shared that he will “be wise” as he considers what to do with the rest of his winnings. Phillip purchased his winning ticket at Big D Liquors in Northeast D.C. and has elected to receive annuity payments dispersed annually for a minimum of 20 years.

In a twist of fate, a second winning Lucky for Life ticket was sold on Monday, August 12. This $500,000 winning ticket, which is still unclaimed, was purchased at Anacostia Mobil, 2305 Pennsylvania Avenue, SE. The winner has 180 days from the draw date to claim their prize.

The Lucky for Life winning tickets were both purchased for the drawing held on Monday, August 12, 2024. The winning numbers were 3-6-17-24-35, and the Lucky Ball was 2.

Ultimate Riches (Scratcher)

On Wednesday, August 14, a winner cashed a $1 million top prize for the Ultimate Riches scratcher. The purchaser was a company that has elected to take the cash option. Chinatown Liquors in Northwest D.C. sold this winning ticket.
