Office of Lottery and Gaming Issues Three Sports Wagering Licenses
The District of Columbia Office of Lottery and Gaming (OLG) today announced that sports wagering licenses were issued, pursuant to the provisions of Title 30 DCMR Chapter 21, to applicants in the Operator and Supplier categories.
American Wagering, Inc., dba William Hill, was issued a provisional sports wagering Class A Operator license to conduct its sportsbook operation at Capital One Arena, 601 F Street, N.W. William Hill will offer in-person sports wagering using self-service kiosks sports wagering machines and betting windows.
NYX Digital Gaming (USA) LLC, dba Scientific Games Corporation; and, Sportradar Solutions, LLC were each issued a provisional sports wagering Supplier license to provide gaming related goods and/or services to licensed sportsbooks in the District.
Sports wagering license applicants that are currently fully licensed in other “Office-approved gaming jurisdictions” may apply to receive a temporary/provisional license in the same category or equivalent category of license while completing the necessary steps for a standard license in the District. A provisional sports wagering license is valid for up to six (6) months. If approved for a standard license, the initial standard license that is issued will be reduced by the number of days the applicant held a provisional license. The term for initial standard sports wagering Operator license is five (5) years, and an initial standard sports wagering supplier license is one (1) year.
The OLG also issued fourteen (14) sports wagering occupational licenses for individuals employed with William Hill. Occupational licenses are required for persons employed by a licensed sports wagering operator or management service provider whose work duties are directly related to or have oversight responsibilities of sports wagering operations.
