Multiple D.C. Residents Turn 50 Cents into $30,000 with DC Lottery Promotion

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Dee Dee E., a native Washingtonian, turned a $.50 wager into a $30,000 win with the help of the DC Lottery’s DC 5 Straight Bet Bonus promotion. She purchased her winning ticket at Fairfax Liquors in Anacostia.

Dee Dee lamented, “I always play numbers that remind me of my grandmother" and she revealed she plays a combination of numbers that hold a “special connection to those memories.”

Jesse K., also a native Washingtonian, used a combination of numbers inspired by his daughter's birthday to turn his $.50 wager into a $30,000 win. This housing contractor plans to spend some of his winnings on an upcoming trip to Bermuda and plans to go shopping with his wife for home décor items. Jesse purchased his winning ticket at Max Liquors in Northeast.

Throughout February, the DC 5 Straight Bet Bonus promotion offers players the chance to win increased top prizes. Traditionally, a $.50 DC 5 straight bet wins $25,000 and a $1.00 bet wins $50,000. During February, these wins increase to $30,000 and $60,000 respectively.

A DC 5 “straight bet” requires players to select five numbers from 0 to 9 and match them in the exact order to the winning numbers that are drawn.
